Lakeside, near Lake Windermere

The Brief

Radically redesigned a traditional 1960’s single storey bungalow in the rural Lake District hamlet of Lakeside, on the edge of Lake Windermere.

Our architectural scheme included raising the roof and adding a second storey, together with a stunning single storey Garden Room extension with double sets of bi-folding doors

Created a spacious family home with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (principal bedroom with Juliet balcony to maximise the countryside views).

Plans approved by the National Park Authority to more than double the size of the original dwelling, from 71 square metres to 160 square metres.

Client: This was our own development, which is now operated as a successful luxury modern holiday let property.
