The host property is a traditional red brick dwelling in the village of Old Colton, near Leeds, within the Colton Conservation Area.
The client wanted to build above their existing garage to enlarge two bedrooms.
We provided architectural plans to remodel the existing property, and build above the garage and utility, to create two much larger bedrooms, a second en suite, a galleried landing and a useful separate first floor study area. The scheme has enabled the clients to stay in this much loved location as their teenage family grows, with ample space for working at home.
The approved first floor extension increased the property size by an incremental 17%, creating an imposing, spacious family home with character, in keeping with the Conservation area.
